Sue Errera

Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello!  Thank you for taking a minute to read about me. I earned my Master of Science degree in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs from West Chester University in Pennsylvania and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2012.  I was born, raised, and educated in Pennsylvania, but truly enjoying becoming a Georgian over the past several years.

Although a northerner at heart, and not particularly fond of grits, okra, or Brunswick stew, I do love the “southern” richness of sitting together and building a strong relationship with my clients.  Although our hearts can be quite heavy at times, as we explore areas of growth and struggle, we are also likely to find ourselves in laughter.  My hope is that I will encourage you and gently challenge you in our work together to help you achieve your greatest potential.

I believe it is an honor to help individuals grow in self-awareness, self-confidence, and hope as we allow for desired changes to occur.  Some of the concerns my clients face may include navigating interpersonal dynamics, assertiveness, conflict- resolution, anxiety, depression, stress, family concerns, social concerns, school-related issues, grief and loss, and transitions of all kinds.  I seek to aid my clients through a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Therapy.

My prior work with a wide-range of youth and young adults; diverse in race, socio-economic status, family structure, social, emotional and behavioral struggles, and educational level, has prepared me for a variety of experiences individuals may encounter.  The years of experience in private school counseling, a juvenile placement facility for boys, as well as collegiate counseling experience have allowed me to glean some very valuable wisdom from some incredibly brave people that I hope to bring to our work together.

A passion of mine has always been to hear those who may not be speaking the loudest and to help make visible those who may feel unseen or invisible;  to help affirm that each of us are important, have worth, and that each person’s goals are deserving of achievement.  My passions also extend to those who appear to have life all figured out; yet seek a safe place for deeper self-reflection, rest, support and self-care.

Spiritual concerns are an area where I have had the opportunity to delve deeper personally and, if you are interested, I am able to help you in your own spiritual exploration. Many face challenges related to faith including not only uncertainties, but also possible abuses, how it plays out in relationships with others, and matters of personal callings in one’s life.    I have earned a certificate in pastoral counseling through The Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF) that is affiliated with the Westminster Theological Seminary.   If you have a struggle that pertains to your faith, or you would like to incorporate your faith significantly in our work together, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

I hope that we may have the opportunity to work together!
