Meet Caroline Hamner
LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Welcome to your journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I’m honored to hold this space for you and to walk alongside you through the challenges, changes, and meaningful moments life brings. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), my approach is rooted in connection, authenticity, and creating a space where you feel genuinely seen and understood. I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and collaborative—while also encouraging growth and deeper self-awareness. My goal is to help you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment, while also helping you move toward the life and relationships you want.
I work with children (7+), teens, adults, couples, and families, recognizing that our lives and struggles are often deeply connected to the relationships around us. Whether it’s helping couples navigate conflict, supporting parents through difficult seasons, guiding teens through anxiety and identity development, or helping individuals better understand themselves, I am passionate about fostering growth at every stage of life.
My therapeutic style is warm, relational, and adaptable to each person’s unique needs. I draw from approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment theory, narrative therapy, experiential therapy, and the Gottman Method. I also enjoy incorporating creative, experiential, art, and play-based techniques when they fit the client and the work we are doing together. I believe healing does not happen through a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why I strive to tailor therapy to each individual, couple, or family I work with.
My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, communication difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, social concerns, boundary-setting, self-esteem, and personal growth. I’m especially passionate about helping clients better understand their emotions, strengthen their relationships, and navigate life’s more uncertain or in-between seasons with greater confidence and emotional flexibility.
At the core of my work is the belief that healing happens within safe and meaningful relationships. I value authenticity, emotional honesty, curiosity, and connection, and I aim to bring those qualities into the therapy room. While therapy can absolutely hold hard emotions and deeper work, I also believe there is room for lightness, creativity, and joy when appropriate. I strive to create an environment that feels grounded, real, and supportive of your full humanity.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Kennesaw State University, as well as my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine—experiences that further deepened my passion for helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the complexities of life and relationships.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing tennis or pickleball, being creative through pottery or painting, and spending time with my cats- activities that help me stay grounded, connected, and present in my own life as well.
Whether you’re seeking personal growth, hoping to strengthen relationships, working through anxiety or life transitions, or simply feeling stuck and wanting support, I am here and ready to walk alongside you. With warmth, honesty, and care, I invite you to take that first courageous step toward healing and growth together.
