Meet Nicole Decker
LPC, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor | National Certified Counselor
If you’re feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt and uncertainty, replaying the past, or worrying about the future, you don't have to move through these experiences alone. I provide a warm, accepting space for adolescents and adults as they navigate life’s challenges – from addressing the social and academic pressures of the teen years to exploring the complex “big questions” that continue into adulthood. Whether you are struggling to feel connected to yourself or others, I am here to help you slow down, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful change.
My style is collaborative and strengths-based – balancing a compassionate, attachment-oriented heart with a direct and honest perspective. I believe healing flourishes when we combine deep insight with practical tools. To support this, I integrate evidence-based and mindfulness-informed practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and compassion-focused therapy. I am also currently undergoing training in EMDR to support clients who have a history of trauma.
I am particularly drawn to supporting highly sensitive and neurodivergent individuals navigating the complexities of perfectionism, rejection sensitivity, and the nuance of the human experience. Whether you are managing ADHD, ASD, OCD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem struggles, relationship concerns, or life transitions, our work together focuses on building the self-compassion and resilience needed for lasting growth.
I hold an M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. from Eckerd College. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me in nature, soaking up the sun with friends, at a concert, or practicing yoga. I also love to read and am deeply inspired by the works of Eckhart Tolle and Thich Nhat Hanh – readings that reinforce my belief that healing begins with awareness, authenticity, and acceptance.
It is a true honor to walk alongside my clients as they move toward wholeness and a more purposeful life. I hope to meet you or your teenager soon!
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
