Our work together is collaborative, active, and purposeful. Grounded in evidence-based practices, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and informed by interpersonal and developmental principles, I help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships interact. From there, we practice new responses that create meaningful change. You can expect thoughtful reflection, practical tools, purposeful conversation, gentle challenge, steady support, and a focus on progress that lasts.

As Founder and Clinical Director of Atlanta Innovative Counseling Center, I am deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical, developmentally informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care. In addition to my clinical work, I provide school consultation, collaborate with educators and administrators, and support the development of school-wide mental health and wellness initiatives. I currently serve as the Consulting Psychologist to Pace Academy and regularly present to parents, faculty, students, and community organizations on topics including anxiety, resilience, executive functioning, perfectionism, and healthy child and adolescent development. Through consultation, education, and advocacy, I strive to extend psychological knowledge beyond the therapy office and into the communities where children, families, and adults live, learn, and grow.

I am a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and my M.Ed. in Community Counseling from The University of Georgia. I completed a pre-doctoral internship in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center. My post-doctoral fellowship was completed in Pediatric Psychology at Emory University School of Medicine. I have been in private practice within the Atlanta area since 2003.

Outside of my professional life, I value curiosity, growth, and lifelong learning — the same qualities I encourage in therapy. Walking, yoga, and meditation help me remain centered and present. I enjoy travel, meaningful conversation, laughter, and experiencing new places and activities. Most importantly, I am a mother to two teenage boys, and that role continually deepens my appreciation for the complexity and beauty of development and family life.

It would be a privilege to partner with you during this season of growth.

If you are reaching out for therapy, you may be carrying something that feels heavy, confusing, overwhelming, or simply exhausting. You are ready to feel differently. My goal is for you, or your child, to feel understood, supported, and guided with clarity and wisdom throughout the process of change. Therapy is not about simply eliminating difficult emotions. They are part of our human experience. It is about developing the insight, skills, and confidence to navigate them effectively so they no longer limit your life, but instead become opportunities for resilience, growth, and greater self-understanding.

For more than 23 years, I have worked as a licensed psychologist with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, OCD, relationship stress, complex interpersonal dynamics, medical concerns, school and peer struggles, divorce, developmental challenges, and life transitions. My specialized training in child, adolescent, and family psychology helps me understand not only what is happening, but why it may be unfolding at this particular stage of life and how to create change in a developmentally appropriate way.

With children, I integrate creative and developmentally appropriate approaches to help them communicate and engage in interventions in ways that feel natural and safe. Parents are active partners in the process and learn strategies to support meaningful change beyond the therapy room. With families and couples, we focus on improving communication, understanding relational patterns, and strengthening connection during transitions such as divorce, blending families, or other significant life changes.

Several core beliefs guide my work: growth often begins when we are willing to stay present with discomfort rather than avoid it; mistakes can become opportunities for learning; and change requires both personal responsibility and self-compassion. We begin where you are and move forward step by step, working toward progress that is both meaningful and sustainable. Together, we address immediate concerns while also exploring the deeper roots of the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

When we meet, I take time to understand the full picture, including your history, relationship patterns, temperament, strengths, thoughts, behaviors, and the dynamics influencing your current experience. I work from a developmental, interpersonal, and systems-oriented perspective within a culturally responsive framework that honors each individual's background, values, identity, and lived experiences. This means we look beyond symptoms to understand the relational, environmental, and contextual factors shaping your experience and incorporate those factors into the change process.

Optimism is not believing everything will be fine, but knowing that we can handle whatever comes.
— Martin Seligman
