Hi, I am so glad that you are here!

I specialize in working with children (5+), adolescents, college students, and young adults. I enjoy working with clients on things like emotional regulation, relationships, anger management, life transitions, anxiety, OCD, neurodivergence, depression, and self-esteem. When working with children, I prioritize collaborating with parents throughout the counseling process to discover new and effective ways to support their child. I offer individual therapy, both in person and virtually, with flexible daytime and evening availability. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their feelings at their own pace.

I believe in using an integrative approach that marries emotional processing and skill-based learning together to promote holistic healing and growth. When working with children, I use play, art, sand tray and other expressive techniques to allow processing of difficult emotions in a developmentally appropriate way. DBT teaches us skills for regulating emotions, tolerating distress, and improving our relationships. A key aspect of DBT is mindfulness, which is a beneficial tool for helping clients of all ages learn how to become more aware of their emotions and learn how to regulate big feelings. Through emotional processing and emotional regulation skills, children are better able to manage big feelings, build higher self-esteem, learn healthier ways to cope, and gain increased flexibility.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Society and Health at The University of Mississippi, as well as my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi College. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) under the supervision and direction of Dr. Christi Bartolomucci, Ph.D., LPC, CPCS and Dr. Ashley Tolleson, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, CPCS, RPT.

Outside the therapy room, I love taking my cavalier Audrey to play groups, making sourdough, reading, playing mahjong, and traveling. I am inspired by books like Untangle Your Emotions by Jennie Allen, Choose Joy by Kay Warren, How to Do the Work by Dr. Nicole LePera, and Boundaries by Henry Cloud.

Resources that I frequently recommend are Helping Kids Manage Anger, ACT Limit Setting, Play Therapy Parenting Podcast, Breaking Free of Child Anxiety & OCD:  Scientifically Proven Program for Parents by Dr. Lebowitz, and The Worry Time Technique

Beginning therapy can be an intimidating and overwhelming process. I would be glad to support you throughout that process and answer any questions that you may have through a free consultation call. Thank you, I am honored to embark on this journey of healing with you!
