Meet Morgan Cannon
Ed.S.
Education Specialist
I am a certified school psychologist and have spent over a decade working in Georgia public schools. My passion is helping children and adolescents who may be struggling academically, behaviorally, socially, or emotionally by providing comprehensive psycho‑educational assessments and meaningful, actionable support. I’m well versed in educational law and the rights afforded to all students and families, and I’m excited to serve as a “home to school” bridge for the clients I work with.
My goal in every evaluation is to truly “paint a picture” of each student - highlighting their strengths, their challenges, their learning styles, and their unique personality. I tailor every assessment battery to the student’s specific needs and presenting concerns so that the results are accurate, individualized, and genuinely useful. Once we understand the underlying factors affecting a student’s learning or functioning, I provide clear, practical interventions and strategies that families and schools can use to support the student’s success. I strive to communicate results in a way that is understandable, relatable, concise, and solution‑oriented.
Collaboration is at the heart of my work. I partner closely with families, caregivers, teachers, school staff, and community mental health providers to understand the full picture of a student’s experience across home and school settings. I have worked with a wide range of learners, including students with learning differences, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention‑Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech and language disorders, orthopedic impairments, hearing and vision difficulties, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), mood disorders, developmental delays, and challenges with cognitive or adaptive functioning.
I received my M.Ed. and Ed.S. in School Psychology from Georgia State University and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South. I also hold a Dyslexia Endorsement, which allows me to better support and identify students with dyslexia and provide informed recommendations for intervention.
My personality is easygoing, warm, and welcoming. I genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients, and I work hard to make testing sessions interactive and engaging. Short breaks, conversations, and even games help students stay comfortable and allow me to learn more about how they see themselves as learners, friends, siblings, and growing humans. These moments often provide just as much insight as the formal assessment tools.
By conducting comprehensive evaluations, I’m able to dig deeply into how a student thinks, learns, and feels - and then translate that information into meaningful reports that guide parents, teachers, and other professionals in supporting the student’s needs. Because I also work within public schools, I’m able to help families navigate processes like IEPs, 504 plans, special education eligibility, early intervention, and Response to Intervention (RTI). My goal is always to empower families with clarity, confidence, and direction.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our family and friends, and our two dogs, Finn and Augie. I love going to Braves and Atlanta United games, attending concerts and festivals, cooking, traveling, and trying new restaurants around the city. I stay connected to my field through resources like the NASP Dialogue podcast and am inspired by authors such as Cecil Reynolds and Randy Kamphaus. One book I often return to is The Body Keeps the Score.
I look forward to partnering with you and helping your child move toward clarity, confidence, and success.
“The day I stop giving is the day I stop receiving. The day I stop learning is the day I stop growing. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
