I am incredibly passionate about the process of therapy. I see it as a deeply human, relational experience- one where understanding, safety, and connection create the conditions for real growth. I prioritize the therapist-client relationship because I believe that when we feel truly seen and understood, we can strengthen our connection to ourselves and to others. It is a privilege to sit with my clients’ stories, to witness their courage, and to empower them in their healing journey.
I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples, and I am especially drawn to clients navigating life transitions, identity questions, and difficult decisions. With couples, I help partners identify and shift the patterns that often emerge from miscommunication, mistrust, and stress. I love working with couples who want to deepen their understanding of one another and build healthier, more intentional ways of relating.
My areas of focus include anxiety, worry, attachment issues, coping skills, depression, emotional regulation, family conflict, grief, loss, LGBTQ+ concerns, perfectionism, personal growth, bullying, self-esteem, social anxiety, spiritual issues, and stress management. My therapeutic approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory and attachment work, with the integration of Internal Family Systems (IFS) when helpful. I am especially interested in my clients’ early relationships, their current interpersonal dynamics, their emotional awareness, and the therapeutic relationship itself. My goal is for clients to gain greater self-understanding and to feel deeply known and understood in our work together.
I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology and my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Fuller Seminary. My clinical experience spans community counseling centers, private practice, hospital settings, and university environments. I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds across gender, age, sexual identity, race, religion, and socioeconomic status, and I hold a deep respect for the cultural and familial contexts that shape each person.
In session, clients often experience me as warm, compassionate, and real. My therapy personality is authentic to who I am outside the therapy room - grounded, steady, and able to sit with the full range of human emotion. I bring honesty and presence into the room, and I’m not afraid to incorporate humor when it helps us connect or see something more clearly. You can expect to feel heard, understood, and gently challenged when needed. I create a space where clients can feel held and supported, while also being encouraged to do meaningful work outside the therapy room.
I believe I help clients by empowering them to manage their emotions, behaviors, and life experiences with greater clarity and confidence. I validate their feelings and experiences while also inviting them to explore deeper layers of themselves. My hope is that clients experience emotional health — the ability to feel a wide range of emotions and to regulate themselves when overwhelmed.
Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking, traveling, spending time with my dog, Mochi, reading, and watching shows and movies. I’m inspired by the work of Nancy McWilliams and Stephen Mitchell, and I often return to clinical resources like The Psychodiagnostic Manual, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and Freud and Beyond to deepen my understanding of the human experience. I have completed Level 1 Restoration Therapy training and continue to pursue ongoing learning in my field.
