Meet Sue Errera

Licensed Professional Counselor

A woman smiling outdoors with trees and a fence in the background.

My work with a wide range of youth, young adults, and adults - diverse in race, socioeconomic background, family structure, emotional and behavioral needs, and educational experiences - has prepared me to support clients through many different life circumstances. My years in private school counseling, a juvenile placement facility for boys, and collegiate counseling have given me invaluable wisdom from incredibly brave people, and I bring that perspective into every session.

A passion of mine has always been to hear those who may not be speaking the loudest and to make visible those who feel unseen or overlooked. I want every client to know they matter, they have worth, and their goals are deserving of pursuit. I’m also drawn to clients who appear to “have it all together” but quietly long for a safe place to rest, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

For clients who wish to explore spiritual concerns, I offer a compassionate and knowledgeable space. I have earned a certificate in pastoral counseling through the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF), affiliated with Westminster Theological Seminary. Many people face challenges related to faith — uncertainties, past hurts, spiritual abuse, relational impacts, or questions about calling and purpose. If you’d like to incorporate your faith into therapy, or if you’re wrestling with spiritual questions, I would be honored to walk with you.

My therapy style is warm, compassionate, and gentle. I’ve been told I put people at ease quickly, and I integrate humor where appropriate to create an emotionally safe, down-to-earth environment. I listen with curiosity and care, offering alternative ways of interpreting experiences that can lead to more positive feelings and outcomes. My goal is for clients to feel supported, understood, and empowered as they navigate life transitions and challenges.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy kayaking, walking my dog, and spending time with my family. I’m inspired by podcasts like Unlocking Us and Balance365 Life Radio, and I often recommend books such as Kristin Neff’s Self-Compassion. Brené Brown’s work has also deeply influenced me.

I hope we have the opportunity to work together. It would be a privilege to support you as you step into your own “arena” with courage, compassion, and hope.

Hello! Thank you for taking a moment to read about me. I earned my Master of Science in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs from West Chester University in Pennsylvania and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2012. I was born, raised, and educated in Pennsylvania, and while I’m still a northerner at heart (and admittedly not the biggest fan of grits, okra, or Brunswick stew), I’ve truly enjoyed becoming a Georgian over the past several years.

What I do love about the South is the richness of sitting together, slowing down, and building a strong therapeutic relationship. Our hearts can be heavy at times as we explore areas of growth and struggle - but we also often find ourselves laughing together. My hope is to encourage you, gently challenge you when needed, and walk alongside you as you move toward your greatest potential.

I consider it an honor to help individuals grow in self-awareness, self-confidence, and hope as they make meaningful changes in their lives. Many of my clients come to therapy navigating interpersonal dynamics, assertiveness, conflict resolution, anxiety, depression, stress, family concerns, social challenges, school-related issues, grief and loss, and transitions of all kinds. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy, offering a blend of structure, compassion, and genuine connection.

The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena… who strives valiantly… who errs, who comes short again and again… but who does actually strive to do the deeds… so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.
